How it started
Assalāmu ’alaykum wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuh,
My name is Zabiullah Yousufi, father of two and founder of Moslim Kids Entertainment. In early 2016, the arrival of something truly precious enriched my world: my first child, Sara. Even before my daughter was born, all sorts of thoughts and questions raced through my head. There was one question that kept recurring: "How can I teach my child the basics of Islam in a fun and playful way?"
I was convinced that we wanted to give Sara an Islamic upbringing from a young age, because I believed—and still do—that it provides a perfect foundation for positively shaping a child. However, I wanted to do this with the right tools. Even though Sara wasn't born yet, I began my search for Islamic children's products in the Netherlands. However, I was confronted with the hard facts: there were hardly any. That's when the idea for Moslim Kids Entertainment was born.
The year our daughter was born to Allah, I decided to take action. This was to make Sara and all the Muslim children in our community aware of the existence of our Creator in a childlike way and to raise them with a strong Islamic identity and a positive self-image.
I gathered several specialists and experts qualified to take on this task. With a team of nine, we began the first Muslim Kids Entertainment projects. In addition to the reading books "On the Way to the Mosque" and "Letters in Ramadan," we also produced modern Dutch-language children's films.
Today, Muslim Kids Entertainment continues to produce more content, and we hope that our productions will reach the children in our ummah and be of benefit to them in sha'Allah. All this to further spread the message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Mission and vision
Muslim Kids Entertainment was established in 2016 to meet the long-standing need for Islamic productions within our community. We have taken on the task of developing distinctive, expertly crafted alternatives. These are modern publications that incorporate an Islamic concept with exclusive/unique illustrations that pique the user's interest. This gives young Muslims the opportunity to learn more about their religion while simultaneously immersing themselves in diverse visual languages in which they can identify. We hope that this will strengthen the Islamic identity of all children from our Dutch-speaking Ummah, bi idhn-il-lah.
Together with our independent team, we provide a wide range of products that are Islamically sound and pedagogically sound. To ensure the high quality of our productions, the team consists of experienced writers, editors, educators, illustrators, designers, and printers. Our goal is to offer an Islamically sound alternative to the current offerings in the Dutch book and children's media landscape. An offering in which the word of Allah the Exalted and the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are central.
